Nutrition Impact @ Scale Program: Enhancing Agri-food SMEs to Improve Nutrition
Malnutrition is a major public health challenge worldwide, with far-reaching economic and social implications. In Kenya, malnutrition contributes significantly to the burden of disease and has a profound impact on the nation’s economic and social development. Despite ongoing efforts to address malnutrition, sustainable nutrition outcomes have proven elusive. In response, Nakuru Box in partnership with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN)has developed the Nutrition Impact at Scale Program (NIS) to tackle this challenge.
The Nutrition Impact at Scale Program seeks to apply a nutrition lens to Nakuru Box’s work with Agri – SMEs to achieve large-scale, sustainable nutrition impact for the masses. By sharing actionable knowledge and practical tools, the program aims to empower stakeholders to better support and/or incubate SMEs in enhancing the nutritional value of their food products, complying with food safety and quality standards, and developing innovative business models in the manufacturing, processing, or distribution of nutritious food products.
